Above Canal Park - 12x9

These iconic twin water towers have been a landmark feature of Duluth's Canal Park for as long as I can remember. It was a true challenge to get their shapes just right!
Landing Craft - 9x12

This distinctive (and historic) transport vessel was in dry dock at Loon's Foot Marina in Superior Wisconsin. I love the way the shape of this vessel has nestled into its current home. Painted during the 2024 Plein Air Duluth event.
Father Time - 24x18

This still life was painted live, on location, at the 2023 Fine Arts Exhibition of the Minnesota State Fair. I was an invited demonstrating artist during the daily Studio:HERE aspect of the show.
Grand Marais - 9x12

I love this view out on Artists Point in Grand Marais. This canvas was painted during the annual Quick Paint of the 2023 Plein Air Grand Marais festival.

This is one of 31 plein air and studio paintings created for After the Burn: Beauty and Renewal on Isle Royale – a solo exhibition in 2024 at the Great Lakes Aquarium in Duluth.
Sailing to Duluth - 40x30

I was onboard this handmade vessel named the Ælfinna last October. The experience was remarkable – sailing on Lake Superior to Duluth. The boat and its attachments were crafted by the Duluth Faering Project, as part of the Nóatún Community Boat Works in Duluth.
After School - 6x8

I love creating small works – especially still life paintings like this one of a favorite snack. This was painted quickly (alla prima) and on a birch panel.
Sax-Zim Road – 12x9

In the heart of the Sax-Zim Bog area, near Meadowlands, MN. A great place for birding and beautiful landscapes. This was painted during a paint-out event with Outdoor Painters of Minnesota.

This enchanting place is along the Border Route Trail – en route to Magnetic Rock. Can you see the moose?
